The Malta Crafts Foundation has launched a public consultation on the proposed technical specifications for the traditional Maltese clock, popularly known as the Arloġġ tal-Lira.
Developed following discussions with local clock makers, the draft specification represents an important step towards a potential application for a European Crafts Geographical Indication (GI), helping safeguard the authenticity, knowledge, and craftsmanship associated with this traditional Maltese craft.
Interested parties are invited to review the proposed specification and submit their feedback by 31 August 2026.
