Gozo was peppered with colourful, orange shirts as around 450 women from all over Europe took part in the POP in Gozo event, going around the island and participating in various challenges – some of which were an attempt at creating an artisanal product under the guidance of local artisans!

Gozo Pottery Barn, It-Tokk Gozo Traditional Food, and The Leatherhouse hosted participants at the Ta’ Dbieġi Artisan Village, while Alda Bugeja hosted them at her workshop in Rabat – giving them a taste of local crafts, from pottery and food, to leather, spinning, weaving, and traditional bobbin lace making.

The POP in the City concept is a one day event that gives participants the opportunity to discover European cities through original and creative experiences with locals. The event has already taken place in 40 other cities across Europe, but this is the first time it is being held in Gozo, with the support of the Ministry for Gozo, Visit Malta, and the Malta Crafts Foundation.
