Gilding is one of the most ancient processes to decorate artifacts, dating back to the Egyptian era. At his studio J. Farrugia Gilding Studio, Jason Farrugia seeks to maintain the strong tradition Malta has in this craft, doing his best to achieve the highest standard in all his creations, varying from traditional Maltese clocks and home decorations to church artifacts and statues.
All commissions are taken on with dedication, love, and attention to detail, so as to deliver the highest and finest possible products to meet customers’ expectations.
After taking gilding lessons at the Malta School of Arts around 14 years ago, Jason started working on a part time basis with one of Malta’s finest gilders for another four years, after which he decided to move on to set up his own workshop.
