While local artisans excel in creating wonderful artisanal products, some find it challenging to capture the beauty of their own handmade creations in photographs that they could then use for promotional purposes.

The Malta Crafts Foundation thus teamed up with experienced photographer Kevin Casha, who provided training on the principles of photography, thereby helping artisans to enhance their photographic skills.

The training was split in two sessions, held on April 11th and 18th at the new Incubation Centre within the Ta’ Qali Artisan Village, which also houses the Malta Crafts Foundation offices.

After the first session, artisans were asked to take some shots of their own products, and in so doing not only unleash their creative flair, but also apply the lessons learnt in the first session. They were then given constructive and personalized feedback, thereby helping them to further improve their photographic skills.
