The Malta Crafts Foundation attended the Knowledge Exchange Programme organised by the Creative Futures Academy and World Crafts Council Europe in Dublin.

Among others, participants visited the National College of Art & Design, which starts its courses in subjects such as digital art, fashion design, jewellery and objects, glass and ceramics, textile, and surface design by equipping its students with the fundamentals of craft skills – from learning letterpress techniques, to producing their own textiles.

The College strives to preserve the handcraft element, firm in the belief that once students have that knowledge, they will have a better understanding of the creative process and can then apply it even when using more industrial machines.
