The laborious filigree process can lead to the creation of some beautiful, intricate artefacts. Local artisan Kevin Attard spoke about this process at the The Phoenicia Malta in Floriana, where he was also exhibiting a skull made from 300g of silver filigree in resin, and a functional filigree puzzle as non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
The latter creation was the runner-up in Category 2 – Inspiring Artisanship and Innovation through Collaboration at the Premju Ġieħ l-Artiġjanat Malti 2021.
Applications for this year’s edition of Premju Ġieħ l-Artiġjanat Malti are currently being received until Friday 24th February.
