The Malta Crafts Foundation attended the General Assembly of the World Craft Council (WCC) Europe for the first time since becoming a member earlier in 2021.
During his intervention at the General Assembly, which was held in Dublin over a span of three days, Malta Crafts Foundation CEO Elton Micallef introduced the Foundation and gave an overview of the work being done.
He also highlighted the issues that need to be tackled at EU level, such as the need to update NACE codes to incorporate the artisan sector for better data collection, as well as the need to protect genuinely handmade local products: two important points of action that WCC Europe has pledged to start working on in the coming months.
