Mdina Glass was set up in 1968 as Malta’s first glass making company using a blend of traditional glassblowing techniques and those from the burgeoning studio glass movements of the early to mid-60s.

Primarily known for producing small vases, bowls, and paperweights up until that time, since Joseph Said took over in 1985 the company added lampwork and fusion techniques to its production and complemented these with glass engraving, allowing for a greater variety of products. His daughter Olivia is the lead artisan nowadays, with the company’s colourful and expressive portfolio being extended to an even more impressive range.
