Alda Bugeja is the founder of Gozo Weaving and Creations and descends from a long line of Gozitan weavers, having been introduced to the loom at an early age. A master textile artisan, she combines traditional knowledge with refined craftsmanship across loom-based and off-loom techniques, including backstrap weaving, tablet weaving, tapestry, macramé, Kumihimo, fibre art, and Gozitan lace. Alda works closely with natural fibres, often preparing, dyeing, and spinning them herself. Alongside bespoke commissions, she produces heirloom-quality textiles and actively shares her craft through workshops and heritage education.
