Ever noticed those artistic, hand-painted letters on old Maltese shopfronts, the old buses or traditional boats, and wondered who painted them – and how?

For our next Meet the Artisans session we will shine a spotlight on the traditional art of Maltese signwriting, known as tberfil, as we meet master signwriter Joe Farrugia, who will guide participants through the tools, techniques, and visual language behind this distinctive tradition.

This session will be held earlier than usual, on Saturday, February 7th, to coincide with our Carnival-themed event at the Ta’ Qali Artisan Village – thereby providing you the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in craft, colour, and celebration all in one day.
