Piece by piece, one next to the other until they collectively form an image. The craft of mosaic has long been practised in Malta, with the remains found at the Domus Romana in Rabat being a prime example of this beautiful art.

For our next session of Meet the Artisans, we shall be visiting mosaic artist Ray Aquilina, who mainly uses glass pieces in his creations, and is among those artisans who are bringing in innovative elements to the centuries-old tradition.
