This Valentine’s Day, Express Your Love by taking part in an artisanal workshop and produce your own handmade gift for your loved one under the guidance of our master artisans!

Following the successful editions at the Ta’ Dbieġi Artisan Village in the past years, this year we’re doubling up and extending the event to the Ta’ Qali Artisan Village too.

A number of artisans in both villages will be welcoming you on Friday, February 14th and Saturday, February 15th between 10:00h and 16:00h and help you create a product that is meant to be a true expression of your love!

Wood Painting Workshop – Scic Crafts Studio

Participate in a cosy and creative workshop through painting a wooden heart-shaped ornament. The fee of €25 per couple includes all materials used, along with a glass of Prosecco per person and some chocolates.

Pottery Workshop – Alka Ceramics

Various workshops are being offered, namely: painting on ceramic items – either a plate or mug – at €40 per couple; wheel-throwing at €60 per couple; and creating pottery objects at €40 per couple. Each 60-minute workshop includes guidance, materials, and firing of the object (which will be available for collection at a later date). A glass of Prosecco per person and some chocolates are included in the price. Pottery Hugging experiences (as can be seen on TikTok) are also available; however, these need to be pre-booked since the vase would need to be prepared at least 24 hours in advance. These experiences will be quoted on request as prices fluctuate depending on the size and specifications of the vase.

Traditional Maltese Filigree Workshop – Exquisite Jewellery

Create a heart-shaped pendant while learning traditional Maltese filigree techniques. At €35 per couple, this workshop includes guidance on how to create your own heart pendant, which you get to keep, and the cost of materials used. A glass of Prosecco per person along with some chocolates are included in the price.

Traditional Weaving Workshop – Antoine Vella (held at the Malta Crafts Foundation)

Try your hands at a traditional Maltese loom and weave your own carpet together during this 2-hour workshop. At €35 per couple, you will be provided guidance on the weaving process, given a glass of Prosecco per person and some chocolates, and take home your carpet.

Traditional Maltese Bobbin Lace Workshop – Alda Bugeja (held at Ta’ Dbieġi Gozitan Handcrafts)

Create a traditional bobbin lace heart ornament. The fee of €35 per couple includes guidance from the artisan along with all materials used, and a frame for the ornament. A glass of Prosecco per person and some chocolates are included in the price.

Personalised Scent Workshop – The Perfume Studio

Learn about the products being created and the ingredients used in artisanal perfumes and candles. The team at The Perfume Studio will then help you create your own personalised scent. This workshop, running between 60 and 90 minutes, costs €150 per couple and includes a 50ml eau de Parfum along with a handbag spray in a leather pouch. A glass of Prosecco per person and some chocolates are also included in the price.

Pottery Wheel-throwing Workshop – Gozo Pottery Barn

Enjoy a romantic experience by participating in a wheel-throwing workshop. At €95 per couple, each workshop includes guidance by a master artisan, the use of equipment, materials, and firing of the object (which will be available for collection at a later date).
