For our latest Meet the Artisans session, participants discovered the sweet tradition of nougat making with confectioner Robert Caruana and his wife Maria at their workshop within the Ta’ Qali Artisan Village.
During the session, Robert shared the techniques and passion behind one of the most recognisable treats associated with Maltese village feasts. From carefully combining the ingredients to achieving the perfect texture and consistency, participants gained a deeper appreciation for the craftsmanship behind this much-loved confection.
If all this has left you craving a piece of nougat, you’ll have another opportunity to meet Robert and Maria during the upcoming Festa Lwien, taking place at the Ta’ Qali Artisan Village on August 7.
