For our first Meet the Artisans session of the year we visited master silversmith Gaetano Saliba and his team at their workshop in Marsascala to learn more about the delicate, highly-skilled art of filigree.
Besides showing his lace-like silver filigree creations, Gaetano also offered a rare glimpse into the process of creating wire from raw silver, a fundamental yet seldom-seen step that gave attendees a deeper appreciation of the craft.
