What happens when you give a roomful of creatives just one day to turn ideas into reality?
The designMT Fashion Jam held at the Valletta Design Cluster between August 9th and 10th brought together a vibrant mix of local artisans, designers, fashion students, and fashion enthusiasts for a 24-hour collaborative challenge.
Teams worked to develop mood boards, concepts, and physical samples — all based on a shared theme: Green is the New Black. While the literal use of the colour green was optional, a deeper exploration of sustainability was essential at every stage of the creative process.
The outcome? A showcase of bold thinking, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and the kind of innovation that can only emerge when creative minds collide.
The winning design was an innovative concept for a classic dress reimagined as a modern, reversable, and modular piece, created for the dynamic lifestyle of today’s women, which will now be brought to life.
Held in collaboration with MCAST, and supported by the Chamber of Fashion Malta and the Valletta Design Cluster, the event offered a fresh glimpse into what the local fashion and design community is capable of when creative forces unite.
