The Malta Crafts Foundation facilitated the placement of a number of young people with different artisans operating at the Ta’ Qali Artisan Village for a two-week internship, during which they had the opportunity to experience first-hand how businesses operate by assisting the artisans in the manufacturing aspect and running of their business.

On the last days of their programme, the students gave a presentation of their work experience and also came up with recommendations to the artisans about actions that could be taken to improve their business.

During these sessions, the Malta Crafts Foundation took the opportunity to discuss business opportunities in the creative arts and the importance of sustainability.

This initiative by the Malta Crafts Foundation, aimed at nurturing entrepreneurial skills within the local artisan community, was also aligned with Malta’s participation in the NEXT project, particularly with the themes “Young Generations for a Sustainable Future” and “Empowering Youths through the Creative Arts.”
