The Malta Crafts Foundation attended the sixth transnational meeting of the “NEXT – Young NEETs shaping EXpectations for The future of Europe” project, which was held in Limassol, Cyprus and involved partners from eight EU countries (Bulgaria, Cyprus, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Portugal, and Malta).

With the direct participation of youths from across the partner countries and local authorities, the two-day programme focused on empowering youths through the creative arts and among others included a discussion on job opportunities and challenges in the creative arts, workshops on art therapy, and visits to visual arts museums.

The last transnational meeting for the project, which is co-funded by the EU through the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) Programme, will be hosted by the Malta Crafts Foundation in Malta in early November. With a focus on the significance of culture and heritage as a possible employment option within the context of today’s realities, the meeting will offer local youths the opportunity to meet with their peers from all over Europe and actively participate in discussions about their future.
