The Malta Crafts Foundation took part in the fifth transnational meeting of the ‘NEXT – Young NEETs shaping EXpectations for The future of Europe’ project, which was held in Lousada, Portugal.
With the active participation of youths from across the partner countries – namely Bulgaria, Cyprus, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Portugal, and Malta – along with local authorities, the meeting focused on on climate change and sustainability, exploring also the role that young generations may have on this topic.
Among other initiatives, the youths took part in a roleplay exercise that enabled them to immerse themselves in the identities of the various stakeholders with the scope of coming up with ideas that would contribute to a more sustainable environment. The sessions came to a conclusion with a tree planting activity within the framework of an afforestation project in the countryside outside Lousada.
The project is co-funded by the EU through the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) programme.
