The Malta Crafts Foundation took part in the fourth transnational meeting of the ‘NEXT – Young NEETs shaping EXpectations for The future of Europe’ project, which was held in Bolesławiec, Poland.

Discussions during the event – with the active participation of youths from across the partner countries, namely Bulgaria, Cyprus, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Portugal, and Malta; and local authorities – focused on prejudice and stereotypes, pointing out how unaware we often are of the existence of certain biases we may have formed.

Apart from a roleplay exercise, allowing young participants to take on different identities in an attempt to create policies in favour of multiculturalism and inclusion, the programme also included thematic and creative workshops held within the city’s artisanal centres aimed at fostering collaboration and at empowering youths to break free from common prejudices related to race, gender and education, amongst others.

The project is co-funded by the EU through the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) programme.
