The myriad of initiatives undertaken by the Malta Crafts Foundation to support the crafts sector in Malta were shortlisted among the ten best or most unique practices in Europe to support craftsmanship by the Ministry of Economy in Belgium.
The shortlisted was the culmination of an extensive research across all Member States within the framework of the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, which had the main goal of finding initiatives that are easy to transfer and implement in other countries in order to promote craftmanship across Europe, thereby initiating a European policy for craftsmanship.
Along with other shortlisted initiatives, the work of the Malta Crafts Foundation was presented during a conference on the initiation of a European policy for crafts held in Brussels, Belgium.
Whilst taking pride in this achievement and that its work is being recognised as a best practice at a European level, the Malta Crafts Foundation remains committed to strive even harder to support the local crafts sector and ensure its long-term sustainability.
